We are disappointed to announce that the Prescription Ordering Line (POL), run by Gloucestershire CCG, will be closing by the end of March 2022. This service handled all of Yorkley & Breams telephone requests for repeat or new medications. We are unaware of any plans for this service to be replaced – so wish to clarify the remaining options available for those requesting medications.
We encourage all of our patients who previously used the POL to register for online patient access. This is a quick, convenient and easy way of requesting medications. It can be accessed at any time & can also be used to book appointments or see test results. You can apply for online access at www.yorkleyhealthcentre.nhs.uk/register-for-online-services (requests take a few days to process).
Medication requests can still be made by dropping off your repeat slip at Yorkley or Bream Surgery, by requesting them in person or by phoning the dispensary. We do expect, however, that the dispensary phone line will be extremely busy once the POL closes due to the additional calls they will have to answer. We hope that online patient access will help our patients avoid frustrating delays on the phone lines.
