The Dispensary has moved so that you can access the hatch at the side of the building close to the car park.

The Dispensary will be open from 8.30am to 6pm from Monday to Friday for collection of medications only.

Repeat prescription requests can still be dropped into the red box which has now been moved into the porch.Please also continue to use your patient online access and/or the Patient Ordering Line for your repeat prescriptions.


Guidance note for patients requesting PPE exemption letters


We are aware that some patients might be understandably anxious about the Government’s recent announcements around the use of face masks in various public settings.


GPs are unfortunately not in a position to provide individual risk assessments or letters for patients who feel that they should be exempt from wearing a face mask.


The government guidance on exemptions suggests there is no requirement for evidence for exemption therefore it is sufficient for an individual to self-declare this.


The responsibility for issuing exemptions lies with the transport provider not your GP. Similarly, practices are under no obligation to provide letters of support for anyone who does not fall under the list of exemptions but considers them to have another reason to be exempted.

Some people don’t have to wear a face covering including for health, age or equality reasons. Some transport staff may not wear a face covering if it is not required for their job.

We are no longer booking routine appointments for the foreseeable future and the daily walk-in emergency clinic has been changed.

If you feel you need to see a doctor or a nurse please do NOT come to the surgery until you have spoken to a doctor or nurse over the phone and they have agreed that it is safe and sensible to do so.

For all patients

Please do not come in to the surgery in person to order your medication, but order them by phone (0300 421 1215) or online.

Due to the current situation, please allow 72 hours (3 working days) before collecting your medication.

Changes to Bream Surgery opening hours

Please note that as from 2 December 2019, Bream Surgery will be closed on Monday mornings and open at 1.30pm. Our surgery opening times can be found in the Opening Times tab.


Text Messages

You can now register to receive information by text message on your phone regarding appointments and health care. This service is due to be launched in the Summer of 2020. If you wish to register for this messaging service please fill out the consent form.

Prescription Price Increase

As from 1st April 2019 prescriptions will be £9 per item. Prepayment certificates for 3 months will be £29.10 and for 12 months they will be £104.00

Over The Counter Medicine - change on prescribing

In May 2018 the CCG confirmed change on prescribing of Over the Counter Medicines. For more info please see this leaflet Over the Counter Medicines

NHS Prescription Ordering Line

Patients are now able to order their repeat prescriptions directly via the Local Gloucester Service NHS Prescription Ordering Line on 0300 421 1215. Please note that our Dispensary won't be able to take any repeat prescription orders via the phone any longer.

Changes to Monday Emergency Surgeries

From 16th April 2018 emergency appointments on Mondays (for problems that can't wait until the next available routine appointment) can be booked on the day, either by telephone from 9am onwards, or by calling into either surgery to make the appointment. These emergency appointments will be at Yorkley Health Centre.

Improved Access to GP & Nurse Appointments

Did you know that there are now extra GP and nurse appointments during normal hours and additional appointments at one of the Forest of Dean surgeries between 6.30 pm and 8 pm on weekdays and also on Saturday mornings? 

This is part of the Improved Access Scheme organised between the Forest surgeries.
