Flu Clinic

If you are 65 years of age or older, or if you are susceptible to the effects of flu (for example If you are pregnant or have a heart problem, chest complaint, kidney or liver disease, lowered immunity, had a stroke or a transient ischaemic attack (TIA), diabetes, a neurological condition or have a problem with your spleen), you are eligible to have a free flu vaccine to help protect you against some of the flu viruses. You are also eligible if you are the main carer for an older or disabled person. Children over the age of 6 months with one of the health problems listed above should also have the vaccine. Pregnant women should have the vaccine to protect themselves and their babies from serious complications which can be caused by flu at any time during pregnancy and also to give their baby some immunity to flu during the first few months of its life.  Our Flu Clinics for adults are usually held during October. If you are eligible and haven't already done so, please contact reception to make an appointment with the Practice Nurse.

Staff Training

The practice closes on ten afternoons each year for Protected Learning Time. This time is essential to allow the whole practice to come together to discuss recent guidance, protocols and practice business. It is also an opportunity for everyone to undertake obligatory training such as fire safety, basic life support etc. and for the clinicians to progress with their Continued Professional Development.

The next few training dates in 2016 will be:

Thursday 17th March

Wednesday 13th April

Tuesday 10th May
